The Desert Laughs in a Flower

Denise's Challenges : SPRING 2012 CHALLENGE 3 create a Spring Layout and card (with leftover scraps)

http://enmarc.ning.com

The inspiration for my layout was no other than "Spring" fever and the absolute feeling of rejuvination and energy. In addition to that, was the idea to not waste anything and also use my scraps leftover from the layout, to create a card

I have put my hand into creating a Spring layout - double page layout and card from the leftover scraps.
So my Challenge to you is to also create a Spring Layout and card (with leftover scraps) and to use at least TWO Enmarc Chippies (Whiteboard/chipboard products) as inspiration to create this double page Layout and  ONE Enmarc chippie on your card.

Denise's Layout

Here is my take on the Challenge :  The Desert Laughs in a Flower

I used this week’s sketch over at Let’s Scrap for my Layout.

We live in the Namib Desert and we NEVER have SPRING, although we have 4 seasons in a day LOL. On Monday 27 August, we had a Public Holiday en went on a day trip into the desert.  WOW! I saw these little flowers and took a few photos. Thank you for a great challenge Denise J

Enmarc Crafts Chippies used:
Mini Pack : Mini Flowers
Dress-me-Ups : Bigger Corner 4
UNO Alphabet Letters : ‘e’ (x2)
Alpha Sheet : Mystic Curls L/C (s)
DMU : Medium Squares x4
Old Typewriter : Upper and Lower case – cannot remember whether both were DT chippies
Dazzles : Sunflower, Lemon Meringue and Tanzanite
Special requests Emsige Biene : ‘Laugh’ and mini alpha letters ‘rain’

Now a few close-ups

This the card I created with the left-over PP's : If Friends were Flowers, I'd Pick You

Thank you for stopping by and please leave me comment so I know you were here  :-)

Enmarc 2012 Spring Blog Hop

I'm so happy that you have decided to join us for the Enmarc Spring 2012 Blog Hop!  For those of you who are new to the site, Enmarc is a relatively new Social Network where a wonderful group of scrapbookers encourage and motivate each other in our love for scrapping!
New sketches are posted once a challenge is finished and sample Layouts are uploaded by members to provide inspiration to all. Enmarc sponsors all the challenges where you can win an awesome prize for each challenge entered.
Our forum contains Tutorials, Tips & Tricks and General Discussions.   We believe we have one of the friendliest communities of scrappers on the web, and are so glad that you have decided to check us out during our blog hop!
And now, a little bit about this blog hop:
The Enmarc Spring 2012 Blog Hop starts Saturday 1st September 2012 and runs until 11:59 pm South African time on Sunday 30th September 2012.  That’s right it runs for a whole month.
There are 8 Design Team, Contributing Design Team members and Administrators from Enmarc hosting the blog hop. They will each have a Challenge for you to do and a prize that you can win. Also some of the hosts of the group do not have a Blog, but their challenges will be posted together with all the other challenges on the Enmarc Social Site as well as on their Facebook pages, so make sure you befriend them on Facebook.
Not only do you have a chance to win a prize for each challenge you enter, but if you complete and post an entry for EVERY challenge along the blog hop by 30th September 2012, you're name will be entered into a random draw for a wonderful prize supplied by Enmarc Crafts
On every blog in the hop you must become a follower and leave a little love (a comment) for the host.
Okay, are you ready to start the Enmarc Spring Blog Hop?  Here is the first Challenge.

CHALLENGE 1 (SPR2012,CH1)

If you started here at Challenge 1, then you are in the right place J
I have put my hand into creating a sketch for a double page layout and wanted to do a layout from my own sketch. I also watched a tutorial on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I67QgRJsuMg) on how to make concertina butterflies which I really wanted to try out. OPTIONAL:- If you make a concertina butterfly or butterflies from this tutorial and use it on your LO, it will earn you another entry for the draw, thus TWO entries

So my Challenge to you is to use my sketch as inspiration and at least TWO Enmarc Chippies (Whiteboard/chipboard products) to create a double page Layout.
§  You may use this sketch any way round : flip it, use it upside down, back to front etc.
§  If there is one place holder for a photo you may change it for smaller photos or vice versa.
§  A flower on the page may be replaced for stars or gears or butterflies or whatever comes to mind.
§  A line on the page may be represented as ribbon, brads, stitching etc
§  This sketch is to serve as a starting point for your layout - be inspired and create a masterpiece to upload to the Gallery!

Here’s the Sketch you must use as your inspiration:

And here is the Layout I created from the sketch – I have Flipped and Mirrored the Sketch

Specific Challenge 1 (CH1)Rules:
1.     You must become a follower of my Blog – http://www.emsigebiene.blogspot.com
2.    Be sure that you use at least TWO Enmarc whiteboard/chipboard products and name them in the comment section when you post your layout to the gallery. You can go to the Enmarc Crafts website’s Catalogue to get the names of the products you used if you do not have the packaging anymore.
3.  Please leave me a comment here on the blog and tell me who or what is your favourite topic to scrap.
4.  You must upload your Layout/Card/Project to the Enmarc Gallery. You must tag your layout correctly in order for it to be entered into the challenge. For my challenge, the tag would be:  SPR2012,CH1  - NO space between SPR and 2012, separated by a comma and then the challenge number with no space either.
5. Come back to my Blog and provide a link to your layout in the Enmarc gallery - Hi-lite the information in the URL (address bar at the top of the page where your LO is after you have posted it to the gallery and opened the page again) right click the hi-lited address and click ‘copy’ then back to my blog and in the comments section, right click again and click ‘paste’ and post a comment so I know that you have posted your LO in the gallery.
6. I will randomly select one person who completed Challenge 1 to receive the candy I am offering. Draw will be done not later than 3 October 2012

THIS IS THE BLOG CANDY UP FOR GRABS :-

Thank you so much for playing along :-))
Ok, now its time to hop on over to the next stop – Canica’s Blog - http://shoestringscrapbooking.typepad.com

ENMARC Spring Blog Hop General Rules

Herewith the general rules for our Spring 2012 Blog Hop. Thank you Betty Anne over at Let's Scrap, for your help :-)
Please note that these are the overall general rules and that each host will have their own challenge rules in addition to these rules.
  1. You must become a follower of each of the blogs hosting the blog hop or alternatively befriend the host on Facebook if she does not own a Blog. The Facebook hosts will create one single post for all comments and replies to keep track of all participants’ comments and feedback.
  2. Leave each blog host a little love (comment) so they know you stopped by.
  3. When completing the challenges, you must
    1. use at least two different Enmarc chippies for each challenge as well as different chippies for the different challenges. In other words, you cannot use the same 2 chippies for two or more challenges;
    2. comply with each host’s own rules for the specific challenge;
    3. upload a NEWLY created LO or project, this means the LO may not have been uploaded or published anywhere else prior to the start of the Spring Blog Hop.
  4. You must tag each entry with the correct SPR2012 number.  It’s important that you tag them correctly as we won’t have time to be checking every tag and I don’t want anyone to miss out on a draw.  To tag an entry correctly, there must be no space between SPR and 2012 and then followed by a comma and the challenge number. As an example, if I participated in challenge number 3, my tag would read: SPR2012, CH3.
  5. You cannot combine any of the challenges with any other current challenge on the Enmarc Social Network (ning site).  We are running the Blog Hop for a month so you will have plenty of time to complete all 8 blog hop challenges.
  6. If you complete all 8 challenges, make sure to leave a comment for Yvette in the Enmarc Crafts Grand Prize discussion in the forum so she makes sure your name gets into the draw for the grand prize.
  7. All members including the Design Team, Contributing Hosts and Administrators :-) submitting an entry for a challenge are eligible to win a prize for the blog hop challenges, but the DT, hosts and Administrators are not eligible for the grand prize from Enmarc Crafts..
  8. All challenges must be posted in the Enmarc photo gallery by 11:59 pm (South African time) on Sunday 30th September 2012.  As the members are in many different time zones we will be going by the clock on the main page for the time. Hopefully the clock will be in place shortly ;-)
  9. All draws will be done by random.org and the names of the lucky ones will be announced not later than 3 October 2012.
  10. There is no restriction to how many times you can win in all of the challenges, which means you can win more than one prize! Now how cool is that? !
Thank you for playing along! :-))

The long awaited Blog Hop is on!
The 2012 Enmarc Spring Blog Hop will start on 1 September throughout the whole month and will end midnight South African time on 30 September 2012.
We have decided to keep the Spring Blog Hop small and if this one is a success, which I anticipate to be, we will do more of these Blog Hops in the future. There will be 8 challenges for the month each with it's own RAK and a grand prize sponsored by Enmarc Crafts to one lucky participant who have completed all the challenges in time. ALL draws will be done randomly and all Design Team Members are also eligible for all draws except for the grand prize.
The following ladies will host the 8 different Stop-overs (in alphabetical order by first name)
#1 - Alma Carter
#2 - Canica van Logerenberg
#3 - Denise van Deventer
#4 - Jeaunes Viljoen
#5 - Mariaan Fouché
#6 - René Sharp
#7 - Wilna Cremer
#8 - Yvette Conradie
More details will be posted shortly.
In the mean time you can right click this poster and save it to your desktop and upload the image to your Blog or FB page to advertise the Blog Hop. You can also find instructions (Borrowed from Let's Scrap) on the Social Network under the tab 'Posters & Blinkies' to upload the Blinkie and/or Poster to your Blog or FB Page.

I really hope you are all excited as I am! So get the scrap table/nook/dining room table/ whatever tidied up and ready to get started when the challenges are uploaded on 1 September 2012.
Until next time, HAPPY SCRAPPING!

I saw the lovely Banner idea on a LO (Sweet Angel) by Tara Orr. I used the Title of the Bingo card as part of my LO’s title and added a chipboard  exclamation mark. Although I have a die to cut paper rosettes, I made these by hand according to a tutorial by Enikö - http://letsscrap.ning.com/forum/topics/turorial-11-making-paper-rosettes-by-hand
