Mixed Media Canvas – My Husband lets me have all the Scrapbooking Supplies I can HIDE

It is a beautiful SUNNY (for a change) day here on the west coast :-) Got lots of chores to attend to, but that can wait for a few minutes ;-)

Got this much wanted WALL ART, but where, oh where shall I put it!!!????

So after weeks of pondering, I decided to put my Wall Art onto a canvas so I can move it around to my liking ;-)
Materials used:

·         A 16x16 inch Primed Stretched Canvas
·         Gesso Paste
·         Acrylic Paints : 3 different Pinks and white
·         Tim Holtz Tissue Paper : Terminology and Composer
·         Tim Holtz Distress Inks : Aged Mahogony and Walnut Stain
·         Permanent Markers : White and Gold
·         Enmarc Craft Products used:-
o   Wall Art : Scrapbooking Supplies
o   A4 Doodling Stencil
o   Edge Stencil : Funky Scallops
o   Petal Blooms : Large - Burgundy
o   White Board Chippies:-
§  Solo : Pennyfarthing
§  Fences & Things : Mini Victorian Fence
§  Swirls & Flourishes : Twisted Heart Swirl
§  Dress-me-Up : Bigger Corners No 7
o   Dazzles : Chocolate Eclaire, Poison Ivy, Anthracite, Cranberry, Avocado and Mystic Olive

·         LOTS and LOTS of FLOWERS that I now don’t need to hide anymore . . . LOL
·
I first added another layer of gesso to the canvas to smooth the surface as I wanted to stick down the Wall ART. I then painted it with a bright pink and toned it down with an old rose which was toned down further with white.

I then pasted down torn pieces of the tissue paper with Mod(ge) Podge.  Another layer of a lighter shade of old rose was painted on top of the tissue paper.
After it was dry, I used the Doodling stencil and sprayed the canvas with Chocolate Eclaire Dazzles and dabbed the Dazzles with Art Roll.
I also used the Edge Stencil : Funky Scallops with Poison Ivy Dazzles which I dabbed with Art Roll.

Then the FUN part started ;-) Doodling with Permanent Markers in White and Gold. Then the tricky part. . . the Wall Art!!
I used the Tim Holtz Distress Inks on the edges of the canvas.
Aaaaah, and then ALL the flowers and chippies. I sprayed the Chippies with Anthracite Dazzles and glazed it.

Here are a few close-ups:

Birthday Wishes

Whooo-whooo! I entered my Easter Card on Just Some Lines's Blog challenge and I won this sweet stamp! I am sooo chuffed with my prezzie :-)
So for the new challenge on Just Some Lines, I chose to use my new Digi Stamp I won ;-)
This is what I came up with :
  • I used my Spectrum Noir pens to colour the Digi Stamp.
  • Used left-over patterned paper and cardstock for the card base.
  • Added a brand new whiteboard chippie- Nature Element : Rustling Leaves and paper flowers(discontinued, but still in my stash!) from Enmarc Crafts - www.enmarc.co.za
  • and 3 old buttons from my stash.
and a little something on the inside :-)

  • I cut the word 'ADORABLE' from an old embossed piece of cardstock.

Happy Easter

I stumbled across this challenge via Chriss America Real's Blog - http://chrissandlou.blogspot.com/2013/03/just-some-lines-bunnies-chicks.html or you can go directly to  Just Some Lines Digi Stamps

Well, I popped in to see what it was about and I thought I might give it a try as I bought Spectrum Noir Pens which I have not used yet. *Cannot afford Copics :-( *

I do not own any of their Digi Stamps, but Just Some Lines gives a freebie away for their challenges, how super cool is that! :-)
I used a Let's Scrap Sketch for the card I made
and this is what I came up with :

Hope you find the Easter Egg amongst all the chipboard flowers!
The Chipboard flowers and patterned papers are from Enmarc Crafts. Unfortunately the patterned papers are from an old discontinued range. I love the versatility of their WHITEboard chippies which can be coloured to your liking and to suit your project :-) *Happy Dance* I coloured the chipboard flowers with the Spectrum Noir pens as well.

Now  a 3D-view or two
I rounded the egg and used 3D-foam squares to lift the egg in the center section.
And then a little surprise on the inside ;-)
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you've found some inspiration here :-)
Please be so kind to leave a comment so I know you were here.

Homegrown : Printers Tray Class

I had the wonderful privilege to teach a class at the same AWS Scrapbook Marathon which was held in the Strand, Cape Town.

I chose to do a Printers Tray and the tray and all chippies and Dazzles (glimmer spray) are products of Enmarc Crafts I want to thank Enmarc Crafts again for sponsoring the chippies and Dazzles towards my class, I really appreciated it very much!

It seemed though the delegates really enjoyed the class.
Not all of the delegates were familiar with the Enmarc Crafts WHITE BOARD chippies and the versatility of the product. I taught the delegates how one can colour quite a number of different objects with the Dazzles. For this class we coloured chipboard, burlap, paper flowers, lace, used tea bags, swabs, twine and embroidery cotton.

Here are a few close ups of the project:

Thank you for stopping by :-)
