Scrap Africa

I saw a post by Jeaunes Viljoen on Enmarc Crafts' FB Page with a banner of Scrap Africa

Curiosity got the better part of me and I hopped over to Jeaunes' Blog to see what it is all about

How it works
Hello everyone!
We are very excited to welcome you on our challenge blog Scrap Africa!

Why did we start this blog? Simply because we want to showcase and celebrate the creative talent that we have in our beautiful land. At the same time we want to share it with the rest of the world and be inspired by others. While our main focus is on scrapbooking in Southern Africa we hope that our challenges will attract scrappers from different parts of the world.

This is how it works.
Every 2 weeks on Thursdays we publish a new challenge for you. You have 3 weeks to complete it. We alternate sketch challenges for lay-outs with theme challenges. For our theme challenges you can create any kind of scrap object - it can be a lay-out, a card or an altered object as long as you follow the requirements of the challenge.

You can combine our challenges with challenges from other blogs.
Only make sure that you do not combine similar challenges together. You also cannot take part in two challenges on our blog with the same project (our challenges will overlap and therefore you cannot for example make a lay-out using our sketch and enter it and then enter same lay-out into the theme challenge on Scrap Africa).

Our design team will choose the best entries that we will feature on Scrap Africa blog. We will also choose someone to be our guest designer for one of the challenges.

After every two challenges (a sketch and a theme challenge) we will randomly draw a winner among the participants who will receive a prize from our sponsors.

We hope that we will have a lot of scrappy fun together under African sun!

My Last LO for 2011!

1 Week into the New Year already! Happy New Year everybody! Hope you all had a wonderful time over the Festive Season :-)

This was my last LO for 2012! I participated in a challenge over at Enmarc Crafts' Social Network. We could use any Let's Scrap sketch from November 2011 and I chose sketch no 11-2-11

I flipped and mirrored the sketch and this is what I came up with:

Enmarc Crafts’ Products used:
Enmarc Crafts Patterned Paper – Happy Owl range
White Board Chippies:
  • Plain Embellishment Set : Travel
  • Plain Embellishment Set : Bookplates etc
  • Picture Word : Namibia
  • Scripty Word : Sweet
  • Mini Alpha letters
  • Small Word : Travel
  • Combo Alpha : Barracuda
  • Page Corner : Wrought Iron 1
  • Dazzles : Pink Flamingo
  • Sugar Candy Brads

Other products used:
Stickles
Liquid Pearls
Enamel Accents
Dimensional Glaze

My DGD1 did not know she was coming to visit me. She went with her Daddy to the airport to see her Mommy off and only when the greeting moment arrived, my DD showed her her own plane ticket!! Oh my word! The little girl was ecstatic with joy!! First her heart was broken as she so much wanted to come along for the visit and she thought it was only her Mommy that was going away and then the HUGE SURPRISE!

Here are a few close-ups

I filled the camera lens with Stickles and then added Dimensional Glaze

I used Liquid Pearls (Pink)  for the pink dots on random flowers

The 'flag' photos were raised with foam dots.

I used Ranger Enamel Accents : White on some of the chippies and I must add that I am very pleased with the product.

TYFL :-)
