QUICK & EASY CARD

The other night I was suppose to finish cleaning up my hobby space. As I sorted some of my stash, I stumbled across these cute little white board pennyfarthings which Enmarc Crafts cut specially for me a few months ago. Ahhhhhhh!!! maybe I can make a quick card and simultaneously play with my Flower Soft as well!!!
This is what I came up with. I sprayed the pennyfarthing with Dazzles, the black embossed c/s was scraps from a previous card.  All materials are from my stash.
I'm not very happy with the sentiment. I should rather have embossed it :-(

. . .  and the inside of the card

It was late afternoon and somewhat misty, thus the poor quality of the photos.

LET'S SCRAP : 16 FEBRUARY 2011 CHALLENGE

Every 3rd week, Let's Scrap have a Card Challenge. This week's card sketch was designed by DebbyD.

For now, I'm also trying to make use of what I have in my HUGE stash. I did a double page recently using Fancy Pants and Kaiser Kraft papers. LOL, I cannot find the photo of the LO on my puter, but will post it as soon as I find it ;-)
Well, I thought I could cut out the cute sun from the leftover patterned paper instead of just a circle. . ..  and this is what I made.

I finished my card off on the inside and I'm quite happy the way it came out ;-)

TYFL :-)

Leaving the Nest - Let's Scrap 2-9-11

I have joined the Let's Scrap Community some time ago, but never really had a chance to do a challenge on the weekly sketches. This past week I was busy making handmade gifts for a Facebook Pledge and thought I will never be able to take on this lovely sketch.

The sketch was inspired by a layout by Louise Dixon Smith from Vryheid in Natal.
Whilst making those gifts, I thought that the paper I was using, is soooo beautiful, I HAVE to do a LO! So the one thought after the other entered my mind and the moment I finished with the Handmade gifts, I grabbed a whole lot of goodies to start with this week's sketch. One of the thoughts that also entered my mind, was that I had my daughter's wedding photo's and those might look awesome with this LO. I didn't even bother to clean-up after my other project LOL, just took my forearm and moved all the leftovers from my cutting mat!

This is what I came up with and I'm quite happy :-) I really enjoyed doing this LO.

Now it's back to the grindstone for me :-(   . . . . . or maybe not LOL

Girls are made of ♥♥♥ Hugs & Kisses

I received this photo of my granddaughter  and immediately scrapped it. Unfortunately, I got only the one, but I guess I could have scanned it and then used the scan to reproduse more detailed photos.

Ain't she a sweetie?? She was about 7 or 8 months old then.

White Board Embellishments from Enmarc Crafts which I painted and I used Stickles on the flower of the Title.

I could not resist the cute owls!!

Close-up of the flower and jumbo button sentiment. I am in love with the BOWMASTER from Enmarc Crafts. . . a PERFECT bow EVERY TIME :-))

A Cool Tip (or is it?)

Like my mother used to say:
"You have a very good plan, but it's not going to work."

Attending a class a short while ago, the teacher gave us this cool tip *or so thought I*
  • Make your own sugar brads - just add stickles ontop of the 'head'
TRIED AND TESTED by me:

Naaaah, it looks cool, BUT the stickles do peel off!! Not a great idea for a LO that's supposed to last for a lifetime ;-)

OK, back to the real world again :-)

GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE

If there is one thing I dislike, it is when a person claims someone elses work as his/her own! I think it is unfair and I will never claim to have done a project without giving proper credit to the original artist unless it IS my own creation. So PLEASE, whenever you do copy/scraplift another person's (including mine) artwork/LO/etc, GIVE CREDIT WHERE IT IS DUE.

Happy crafting! :-))

PROJECT 2011 - SCRAP YOUR STASH

Whilst 'hopping' around over the weekend, I clicked on the link to Lala's World.
What a super idea to scrap away with your stash only! Click on the picture in SIDEBAR to go check it out. For me this should work out just great, because I can start a shop with my hordes LOL! Well, at the moment, cardmaking sounds like a good idea to use up all those left overs ;-)

Here is a sample of a card I made from left over papers and bellies. I should practise to take better pictures!!!

That's it for the weekend :-)

A FEW SAMPLES OF HANDMADE CARDS I MADE

And so I sat here at the pc all day long, hopping from one blogspot to the other and my head is spinning!!! There are so many wonderful blogs with beautful things out there!

Thought I'll share photos of some of my handmade cards I made a while ago. Whenever I make cards, I make a few of each and put them up for sale in the shop. Oh my, just remembered that I have to make some cards again as stock is running low! Maybe I'll do it when I try to work a bit of my stash away - More about that in a seperate post.

Hope you get a wee bit of inspiration here ;-)

I'm still struggling a bit with all this blogging-thing, but I'll manage to get everything running smoothly.

What a BEAUTIFUL Day!

Another Beautiful day in my part of earth!! I would love to go to the beach and spend a few hours of just relaxing and to breathe lots and lots of FRESH air. . .. or I could do some SCRAPPING. . . . BUT, the house chores won't get done by itself nor will the admin be done by the fairies :-(((((
